Speaker Bio: Dennis R. Holmes, MD, FACS
Director, Margie Peterson Breast Center, Providence Saint John’s Medical Center
Director, Breast Surgery Fellowship Program, John Wayne Cancer Center, Santa Monica, CA

Dr. Holmes has gained worldwide acclaim for his pioneering research in IORT or radiotherapy therapy administered during surgery. Dr. Holmes has more than 10 years of experience in IORT and is one of the original U.S. participants in the TARGIT-A trial, the international randomized trial that demonstrated the effectiveness of targeted IORT in the treatment of early stage invasive breast cancer. Currently, Dr. Holmes serves as National Co-Chair of the TARGIT U.S. Registry clinical trial; President of the TARGIT Collaborative Group, a professional organization of IORT physicians and researchers; and Instructor in the U.S. TARGIT Academy, a training course for new IORT users.
